Ann, written by and starring Emmy winner Holland Taylor, will end its critically acclaimed Broadway run at Lincoln Center Theater’s Vivian Beaumont Theater on September 1. Directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, the one woman show about the late Texas governor Ann Richards opened on Broadway on March 7.
In the solo show, Holland Taylor plays Ann Richards, the famed and charismatic former governor of Texas. Ann brings the audience face to face with the political icon, whose personality was said to be bigger than the state from which she hailed.
Ann features set design by Michael Fagin, costume design by Julie Weiss, lighting design by Matthew Richards, sound design by Ken Huncovsky and projection design by Zachary Borovay.
The play premiered at Galveston’s Grand 1894 Opera House in 2010, and went on to play San Antonio’s Empire Theatre, Austin’s Paramount Theatre, Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center.
